In October 2024, Queer Connect and Revival Runway collaborated on ‘Queer By Design’, a sold-out all-queer runway event housed in the Magdalen Laundry at the Abbotsford Convent. Queer By Design showcased the works of 8 local queer designers with over 40 queer models, and featured a fashion installation designed and curated by RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under Season 3 Winner Isis Avis Loren.

Both runways were soundtracked by DJ RE_IMAGE and featured only local queer musicians such as Robert Baxter, Cherry Chola and Jimi The Kween, and singer and cabaret artist Amber Scates performed a half-time show. With an all-star team of queer makeup artists and photographers, Queer By Design was a brilliant event of showcasing the queer talent across Naarm/Melbourne, and it looks to return as a biannual event in 2026.
